Pacific Cebu Resort

sunny 35 °C

Pacific Cebu Resort located in Barangay Suba Basbas, Lapu-Lapu City, Mactan Island is one of Cebu's premier resorts. We went there bonding with family with my sister Joy who came a long way back from the United States for a short vacation to the Philippines. It was a treat and we had lots of fun. The food was great and the scenery was awesome. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The kids enjoyed swimming in the kid's pool as well as with the regular pool. Spending a day need not cost a lot, surely the experience was fascinating.P3230083.jpgP3230082.jpg

After school ended on March 22nd that was a few weeks ago. My mother-in-law, Evangeline, "nanay" as she is fondly called decided to go out and have a beach outing outside the outskirts of Cebu City. That is going to the island of Mactan, famous for the death of Ferdinand Magellan who fought a village chieftain Lapu-Lapu as the city is named in honor of this local hero who fought the Portuguese/Spanish invader. From our home at Panagdait Homes Subdivision, the 9 of us, 6 adults, 1 teenager and 2 kids ages 6 and 8 years old started our journey on April 6. We walked past a small bridge near a creek, crossing over to the boundary of Mandaue City. After a 15 minute walk we crossed the street along Tipolo highway and boarded a public utility jeepney (PUJ for brevity) on our way to Opon, Lapu-Lapu City. After disembarking and crossing the old Mandaue-Mactan bridge, we rode another PUJ bound for Barangay Basak in which case the route took us to MEPZA II also known as the factory of the Japanese firm Tamiya. We took 2 tricycles and headed our way into Barangay Marigondon to Vaño Beach were5P4060100.jpg2P4060130.jpg0P4060129.jpg7P4060128.jpg3P4060123.jpg2P4060121.jpg0P4060120.jpgP4060119.jpgP4060118.jpgP4060117.jpgP4060116.jpg0P4060115.jpg3P4060114.jpg0P4060113.jpg6P4060110.jpg4P4060109.jpg0P4060108.jpg3P4060107.jpg8P4060106.jpg0P4060105.jpg7P4060104.jpg6P4060102.jpg4P4060101.jpg we settled in a Php300.00 cottage. We were the first visitors to arrive at the beach resort. The sun was up by 8:00 a.m. in the morning. The children then took their swimming attires and started to hit the crystal blue waters.
